The objective in Blackjack is for a player to come as close to the number 21, without passing it, going “bust”, while still having a higher total than the Dealer. Bets are placed before the player receives any cards. Once the bet is made, two cards will be dealt to the player, face up; the Dealer is then also dealt two cards. The Player also wins if the Dealer goes over 21 and the Player has not “busted”. If the Player's total goes over 21, the Player loses the amount wagered.
